Overview

A global organisation is seeking a Principal Oracle Finance Platform Lead to take strategic ownership of its Oracle ERP Cloud and PBCS landscape, driving platform performance, finance transformation, operational excellence, and continuous improvement across critical finance systems.

This is a highly visible leadership role, acting as the senior functional authority for Oracle Finance applications and partnering with Finance, Technology, and business stakeholders to ensure the platform delivers against business objectives, regulatory requirements, and future growth plans.

You will operate at the intersection of product ownership, platform leadership, and finance systems strategy, providing direction across both BAU operations and ongoing enhancement initiatives.

This is a hands-on contract position within a complex enterprise environment, offering significant stakeholder exposure and influence.

Role and Responsibilities

• Own the Oracle ERP Cloud and PBCS/EPM platform strategy, roadmap, and operational performance.
• Act as the senior functional authority for Oracle Finance applications across the organisation.
• Drive platform optimisation, configuration governance, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Partner with Finance leadership, Technology teams, and business stakeholders to define future platform capabilities.
• Translate complex business requirements into scalable functional and system solutions.
• Lead product backlog management, prioritisation, and delivery planning.
• Oversee Oracle configuration and solution design aligned to finance best practices and controls.
• Own UAT, regression testing, release planning, and deployment activities.
• Lead root cause analysis and resolution of critical platform issues, working closely with technical teams and third-party providers.
• Ensure platform compliance with regulatory, audit, and governance requirements.
• Drive user adoption, stakeholder engagement, and training initiatives.
• Provide leadership and guidance across Oracle-related projects, enhancements, and transformation programmes.

Essential Skills & Experience

• Significant experience operating as a Principal Product Owner, Platform Lead, Functional Lead, or Oracle Finance Systems Lead.
• Deep hands-on experience with Oracle ERP Cloud within complex enterprise environments.
• Strong knowledge of Oracle PBCS / Oracle EPM Cloud.
• Excellent understanding of end-to-end finance processes, including:
• Procure-to-Pay (P2P)
• Accounts Payable (AP)
• General Ledger (GL)
• Financial Reporting
• Budgeting & Forecasting
• Proven track record of owning and leading enterprise-scale Oracle Finance platforms.
• Experience defining product roadmaps, managing backlogs, and delivering strategic platform improvements.
• Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence senior business and technology leaders.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities.
• Experience working with third-party vendors, implementation partners, and support providers.
