Finance Transformation Programme Manager – Insurance Transformation Programme
£700–£800 per day | Outside IR35 | 6-month rolling contract | Hybrid (UK/London)
We are seeking an experienced Finance PM to join a major insurance transformation programme, delivering next-generation financial systems and reinsurance capabilities across a complex, multi-platform environment.
This is a high-impact role sitting within a strategic change function, responsible for driving delivery across Accounting Hub and Reinsurance workstreams as part of a large-scale modernisation initiative. You will play a key role in shaping and delivering backlog-driven change across core insurance finance platforms.
Role Overview
You will act as the bridge between Finance, Reinsurance Operations and Technology teams, ensuring business requirements are translated into clear, prioritised deliverables within an Agile delivery framework.
The programme spans multiple enterprise platforms including insurance policy, claims, billing, accounting and reinsurance systems, with significant integration and data complexity.
Key Responsibilities
- Own and manage product backlogs for Finance Accounting and Reinsurance systems
- Prioritise user stories based on business value, dependencies and delivery timelines
- Work closely with Finance and Reinsurance SMEs to define requirements and acceptance criteria
- Translate complex business processes into clear, actionable user stories
- Lead backlog refinement, sprint planning and Agile ceremonies
- Support sprint reviews, UAT and business acceptance activities
- Act as the key point of contact for Finance and Reinsurance stakeholders
- Manage dependencies across multiple delivery teams and workstreams
- Ensure alignment across Finance, Data, Reporting and broader platform teams
- Drive clarity, structure and governance across Agile delivery processes
Required Experience
- Proven experience delivering complex transformation programmes within insurance or financial services
- Strong Agile/Scrum delivery background in a Project Manager or Product-focused role
- Experience working with Finance systems, sub-ledger processes or accounting platforms
- Understanding of reinsurance concepts (treaty, facultative, cessions, settlements) highly desirable
- Strong stakeholder management skills across both business and technical teams
- Experience working in large-scale, multi-vendor environments
- Ability to write clear user stories and define robust acceptance criteria
- Confident managing competing priorities in fast-paced delivery environments
Desirable Experience
- Exposure to insurance platforms such as Guidewire, Phinsys or similar
- Experience in large-scale financial transformation programmes
- Knowledge of Lloyd’s or specialty insurance markets
- Background in Finance Operations or Reinsurance Operations
- Agile certification (Scrum, SAFe or equivalent)
