Role Overview
An established healthcare organisation is seeking a 2nd Line IT Support Engineer to join their busy on-site IT function. This role provides hands-on technical support across a large, complex site, resolving incidents and service requests while maintaining smooth day-to-day operations. The team is based on the administrative corridor and does not enter clinical/ward areas. It's a great opportunity for someone with strong 2nd line/desktop support experience who thrives in a fast-paced, service-driven environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide 2nd line IT support for incidents and service requests across the organisation
- Carry out desktop support "walkabouts," attending end-user desks directly to resolve issues
- Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, mobile device, printer, and connectivity issues
- Install, configure, maintain, and deploy end-user devices and applications
- Support Microsoft Windows, M365, Active Directory, and endpoint services
- Take ownership of tickets through to resolution, prioritising and managing incidents in line with SLAs
- Support onboarding, offboarding, access management, and technology refresh programmes
Must-Haves
- 5 days per week on-site (non-negotiable)
- Confident carrying out desktop support walkabouts to end-user desks
- Self-sufficient troubleshooter, able to resolve issues independently
- Strong, proven 2nd line support knowledge
- ServiceNow experience essential (Problem and Service modules)
Essential Skills/Experience
- Proven experience providing 2nd line, desktop, or end-user computing support in a busy organisation
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Windows, M365, and desktop hardware support
- Experience with Active Directory and Microsoft Entra ID user administration
- Endpoint troubleshooting, including networking, Wi-Fi, and connectivity issues
- Excellent customer service and stakeholder communication skills
Contract Details
- Rate: £200/day
- Location: 5 days on-site, West London
- Duration: Initial 3 months, with a view to extend
- Start: ASAP
