Security Engineer (US Hours)

This role will be working US hours based from the UK covering from 3pm to 11pm. This contractor must be able to commit to these working hours Monday to Friday.

We are seeking a highly skilled Security Engineer to help secure, standardise and onboard Microsoft environments across a complex enterprise estate. The role will have a strong focus on supporting M&A activity and bringing newly acquired businesses into a consistent Microsoft security framework.

• Travel: Fully Remote
• Duration: Initial 6 Months

Responsibilities:

• Implementing and managing Microsoft security controls across M365, Microsoft Defender XDR, Intune, Entra ID and Defender for Cloud, ensuring environments meet defined security baselines and standards
• Supporting M&A activity and the onboarding of new businesses into the wider Microsoft security estate, assessing existing environments and implementing consistent security controls and policies
• Working across multi-tenant and hybrid environments, with experience of Azure Arc and Azure Lighthouse particularly valuable for managing and securing distributed estates
• Hands-on policy development, device onboarding, Conditional Access, compliance configuration and security testing, with a strong focus on automation using PowerShell, Microsoft Graph API and JSON
• Integrating Microsoft security technologies across new and existing environments, providing technical guidance to IT teams and ensuring security controls are effectively implemented and transitioned into BAU

We are looking for strong practical experience across the Microsoft security stack, particularly M365, Defender XDR, Intune and Entra ID. Experience of Azure security, Azure Arc, Azure Lighthouse, IAM and M&A/onboarding activity would be highly advantageous, alongside knowledge of NIST, ISO 27001 or CIS frameworks.
