Finance Transformation Consultant – Dynamics 365 Finance
6-Month Contract | Outside IR35
£450 - £500 per day
London | Hybrid Working (2 days onsite, 3 days remote)
An established organisation is seeking a Finance Transformation Consultant to support the implementation of Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance as part of a wider finance transformation programme.
This role is suited to someone who has previously worked on ERP or finance transformation projects and understands the practical challenges of implementing new finance processes, controls, and systems. You may have worked as a Systems Accountant, Finance Transformation Analyst, Finance Systems Consultant, or supported a Dynamics 365 Finance implementation from within a finance function.
Working closely with finance stakeholders, project teams, and implementation partners, you will help drive the successful adoption of new processes and ways of working while providing practical insight gained from previous transformation programmes.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the implementation and adoption of Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance across the organisation
- Work closely with finance teams, project stakeholders, and third-party implementation partners throughout the programme lifecycle
- Assist with the review, mapping, and improvement of finance processes across areas including Purchase-to-Pay (P2P), Order-to-Cash (O2C), Record-to-Report (R2R), budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting
- Support the embedding of new finance processes, controls, and ways of working across the business
- Facilitate workshops and gather business requirements from finance and operational stakeholders
- Provide practical input and lessons learned from previous ERP or finance transformation projects
- Support user acceptance testing (UAT), issue resolution, and deployment activities
- Assist with data validation, reconciliations, and migration-related activities
- Develop and maintain process documentation, user guides, and training materials
- Deliver training and support to end users during implementation and post go-live activities
- Help drive user adoption and support stakeholders through process and system change
- Act as a key liaison between finance users, project teams, and implementation partners
Skills & Experience Required
- Previous experience supporting an ERP implementation, finance systems project, or finance transformation programme
- Experience working with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance, Dynamics 365 F&O, or a comparable ERP platform
- Good understanding of core finance processes including P2P, O2C, R2R, budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and financial controls
- Experience supporting process improvement, systems adoption, or business change initiatives
- Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to work across finance, operations, and project teams
- Experience supporting testing, training, documentation, and user adoption activities
- Strong communication skills and the ability to translate business requirements into practical solutions
- Strong Excel and financial systems experience
Desirable Experience
- Previous exposure to Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance implementations
- Experience within finance transformation or ERP change programmes
- Exposure to purchasing controls, approval workflows, or finance process compliance initiatives
- Experience supporting data migration, reconciliations, or cutover activities
- Finance qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CIPFA) or equivalent finance background
