Overview
We are seeking an experienced Lead Workday Functional Consultant to deliver the implementation of Workday Recruiting and Performance within a complex, fast-paced organisation. This is a hands-on role requiring strong functional expertise, stakeholder engagement, and the ability to lead delivery in a lean environment with limited in-house Workday capability.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the end-to-end delivery of Workday Recruiting and Performance implementations
- Own and drive:
- Requirements gathering
- As-Is/To-Be process design
- Functional configuration
- Business demos and walkthroughs
- Change and adoption support
- Act as the Workday subject matter expert, guiding stakeholders with limited Workday knowledge
- Provide functional oversight and quality assurance of Workday Professional Services activity (eg Scheduling)
- Advise on integrations with external platforms (eg job boards, LinkedIn, learning systems), working alongside architects and integration specialists
- Support the transition away from Legacy HR systems as new Workday modules go live
- Contribute to a train-the-trainer approach by supporting learning and operational teams with SME input and best practice guidance
- Collaborate closely with programme leadership, business analysts, and technical teams to deliver outcomes at pace
Required Experience & Skills
Essential
- Proven experience as a Lead Workday Functional Consultant
- Successful greenfield implementations of:
- Workday Recruiting
- Workday Performance
- Strong background in requirements definition and business process design
- Comfortable operating in lean delivery environments
- Confident engaging senior stakeholders and business users
- Able to work hands-on and adapt to changing priorities
Desirable
- Workday certifications in Recruiting and/or Talent & Performance
- Experience advising on Workday integrations
- Background in fast-paced or operationally complex organisations
