We are currently recruiting for an SC Cleared Java Developer to join a large-scale public sector programme, working on biometric systems. Location: 2 days per week in Solihull (occasional travel to Croydon) Rate: £450 per day (Outside IR35) Clearance: Active SC + NPPV3 required Key Skills Required: • Java 17+, Spring Boot (Data JPA, Integration, Batch) • Microservices, REST/SOAP, ActiveMQ • PostgreSQL / Aurora • AWS (EC2, SQS, RDS, S3, etc.) • Docker, Maven, Jenkins • JUnit & testing frameworks • CI/CD, Agile (Scrum/TDD) • Experience supporting live systems • Public sector background You’ll be developing and supporting large-scale integration solutions within a collaborative, high-performing engineering team.

About the Role We are seeking an experienced System Automation Test Lead to lead the testing function across a major UK Government digital transformation programme. You will be responsible for defining testing strategy, overseeing delivery, and ensuring high-quality software is released consistently and efficiently. You will lead and mentor multidisciplinary testing and automation teams, champion automation-first and quality-driven practices, and coordinate testing across multiple systems, suppliers, and stakeholders in a complex delivery environment. The role is a hybrid one - 2 days p/week on-site in Birmingham, and 3 days remote.
