We are seeking an Azure Cloud Architect to support a government programme. You will provide design assurance and deliver production-ready Azure infrastructure designs, working closely with the Lead Cloud Architect and senior stakeholders to ensure secure, resilient, and cost-effective platforms. Essential Skills Strong Azure infrastructure and cloud platform design experience in regulated environments. Azure networking expertise (VNETs, private endpoints, ingress/egress, DNS, hybrid connectivity). Containerisation experience (AKS and/or Azure Container Apps). Identity integration using Entra ID, RBAC/ABAC, workload identities, Key Vault. Infrastructure as Code using Terraform and/or Bicep with CI/CD or GitOps. 2 days per week on site in Wokingham £675 Outside IR35 Candidates must be SC eligible To work primarily on CNI (critical national infrastructure) projects under the control center tower. Experience & Domain Knowledge Experience in Energy or Utilities sector architecture. Experience in or exposure to System Operators (eg, ESO, DNOs, TOs). Experience in power system SCADA/EMS/ADMS, IT/OT integration for power systems application for electrical utilities. Knowledge of industry standard communication protocols such as IEC101, IEC 104, IEC870.5, ICCP/TASE.2. Knowledge of the Open Systems Interconnection model (OSI) model and data transmission and communication.
