Senior Software Engineer at XCEDE RECRUITMENT SOLUTIONS LIMITED, London Area, £Contract Rate

We're working exclusively with an established investment management business seeking an experienced, hands-on Full Stack .NET Engineer to take a number of internally developed applications and prototypes through to production.

The business has been using AI-assisted development tools, including Claude, to rapidly develop working prototypes and now requires an engineer with the technical depth to turn these into secure, scalable and maintainable production applications.

This is a backend-leaning full-stack role, with a strong emphasis on C#/.NET, Azure, application architecture and data integration. You'll also need sufficient frontend development experience to deliver complete, functional applications.

Working directly with senior business stakeholders in a small technical environment, you'll have considerable autonomy and responsibility for technical delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Take existing applications and prototypes through to production.
• Design, develop and enhance C#/.NET backend services, APIs and integrations.
• Develop and maintain frontend interfaces using modern web technologies.
• Review and improve application architecture, code quality, security and scalability.
• Build and deploy applications within Microsoft Azure.
• Integrate applications with Snowflake and other data sources.
• Establish appropriate testing, CI/CD, deployment and monitoring practices.
• Translate business requirements into practical technical solutions.
• Ensure applications are maintainable, documented and ready for ongoing support.

Essential experience

• Extensive hands-on C#/.NET and ASP.NET Core development experience.
• Strong Microsoft Azure application development and architecture expertise.
• Commercial Snowflake experience, particularly application integration and data access.
• Frontend development experience with JavaScript/TypeScript and a modern framework such as React, Angular or Blazor.
• Practical experience using Claude, GitHub Copilot or similar AI-assisted and agentic development tools.
• Experience delivering software within financial services, investment management or a comparable regulated financial environment.
• Proven experience taking applications from prototype or MVP through to production.
• Strong understanding of software architecture, APIs, security, automated testing and CI/CD.
• Ability to work independently, make sound technical decisions and communicate effectively with senior non-technical stakeholders.

Contract details

• 6-month contract
• Outside IR35, subject to formal determination
• Immediate start preferred
• London-based client, working arrangements to be confirmed
