Solutions Leader - Data - £700 p/d (Outside IR35) - 6 - week contract - London (2/3x a Week Onsite)

A growing technology consultancy is looking for an experienced Data Solutions Leader to drive enterprise data architecture and modern data platform initiatives across its UK client base. This is an exciting opportunity to combine strategic data advisory, solution architecture and technical leadership, supporting organisations in modernising their data estates and developing scalable enterprise data capabilities.

Working closely with senior client stakeholders, business development teams and data engineering functions, the Data Solutions Leader will define enterprise data strategies, architect modern data platforms and lead technical pre-sales engagements. You will also provide architectural oversight across data delivery initiatives, support the development of data engineering capabilities and contribute to the consultancy's data thought leadership.

Key Responsibilities

• Define enterprise data strategies and design scalable architectures across Data Mesh, Data Lakehouse and modern data platforms.
• Develop technical architectures for cloud-based data platforms, Real Time streaming and enterprise data integration.
• Lead technical discovery workshops and develop data solution proposals for enterprise clients.
• Support high-value pre-sales opportunities, including RFP responses, architectural proposals and client presentations.
• Provide technical leadership and mentoring to data architects and engineers across onshore and offshore teams.
• Establish data governance frameworks covering data security, privacy, sovereignty and regulatory compliance.
• Design data architectures that support downstream analytics, AI and Generative AI workloads.
• Produce technical thought leadership content, including whitepapers, articles and data architecture frameworks.
• Work closely with C-suite stakeholders to align enterprise data strategies with business objectives and commercial value.

Required Experience

• Extensive experience leading enterprise data architecture initiatives within consulting, professional services or enterprise advisory environments.
• Strong expertise in Data Mesh, Data Lakehouse, modern data stacks and Real Time data architectures.
• Deep architectural knowledge of AWS, Azure or GCP and data platforms such as Snowflake, Databricks, BigQuery or Azure Synapse.
• Strong experience with data engineering and orchestration technologies, including dbt, Airflow, Spark and Kafka.
• Proven experience designing decentralised data architectures and implementing data contracts.
• Understanding of data platform architectures supporting AI/ML and Generative AI use cases.
• Experience leading technical pre-sales engagements, enterprise RFPs and data solution proposals.
• Strong knowledge of enterprise data governance, security and regulatory compliance.
• Excellent stakeholder management skills, with experience advising senior business and technology leaders.
