Job Title: Senior Technical Business Analyst - Data Centre Migration
Location: City of London (3 days onsite per week)
Salary/Rate: Up to £500 per day (Outside IR35)
Start Date: Immediate Start
Job Type: 6 months initially, with a strong possibility of extension

I'm working with a consultancy delivering a major technology transformation programme for a leading organisation in the City of London. They're looking to bring in an experienced Senior Technical Business Analyst to support a large-scale data-centre exit project.

This is an opportunity to join an established delivery team working across a complex technology environment, helping the organisation understand its existing estate and prepare applications and services for migration.

The Role

You'll work closely with infrastructure teams, technical architects, application owners and business stakeholders to build a clear picture of the existing technology landscape and identify what needs to happen to migrate systems safely.

The role will involve a combination of technical discovery, stakeholder engagement, dependency analysis and migration planning.

Job Responsibilities/Objectives

• Leading discovery activities across applications, infrastructure and data environments.
• Working with application owners, technical teams and third-party suppliers to understand existing systems and services.
• Identifying and documenting dependencies between applications, databases, infrastructure and integrations.
• Assessing application readiness and identifying potential migration risks, constraints and technical challenges.
• Supporting migration planning, including sequencing, prerequisites, testing and cutover considerations.
• Facilitating technical workshops and translating complex information into clear documentation and actionable findings.
• Working alongside project managers, architects and engineers to help drive delivery forward.

Required Skills/Experience
The ideal candidate will have the following:

• Strong experience as a Technical Business Analyst within infrastructure or technology transformation programmes.
• Previous involvement in data-centre exit, migration or consolidation projects.
• Experience conducting application and infrastructure discovery.
• A good understanding of technical dependencies across applications, Servers, databases, networks and integrations.
• Experience supporting migration planning, readiness assessments and technical transition activities.
• Confidence engaging with technical stakeholders, architects, engineers and third-party vendors.
• Strong analytical, documentation and workshop facilitation skills.
• Experience within financial services, legal or professional services environments would be advantageous.
