Role Overview
An experienced Audio Visual & IT Lab Engineer is needed to support the running and development of an enterprise AV lab. Working with the AV Lab Manager and teams across IT, you'll test, evaluate and troubleshoot new AV and collaboration technologies, validate firmware and software updates, and make sure solutions meet enterprise security, performance and operational standards before wider rollout. This role suits a hands-on, methodical engineer who enjoys practical testing and solving complex issues across AV and IT environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Configure, test and evaluate Microsoft Teams Rooms (Windows and Android), Teams Phones, BYOD and wireless presentation solutions
• Test video conferencing systems, cameras, microphones, speakers, touch controllers and room control systems
• Validate firmware and software updates before deployment
• Test Intune policies, Entra ID and Conditional Access for meeting-room devices and resource accounts
• Support security reviews of AV products, investigate vendor advisories and validate patches
• Test AV-over-IP and network-connected AV equipment, working with network teams on connectivity and interoperability issues
• Configure and evaluate digital signage players and management platforms
• Run proof-of-concept testing and document findings and recommendations
• Maintain lab environments, equipment records, configuration guides and the approved global AV device list
• Work with manufacturers and systems integrators during testing and troubleshooting

Key Skills & Experience

• Hands-on Microsoft Teams Rooms experience (Windows and/or Android)
• Device management through Teams Admin Center, Teams Rooms Pro Management Portal or manufacturer tools
• Strong knowledge of video conferencing systems and AV peripherals
• Firmware and software management and technical troubleshooting
• Understanding of cybersecurity principles and vulnerability management
• Structured technical testing and product evaluation
• Clear technical reporting and documentation
• Desirable: Intune, Entra ID, Conditional Access, Autopilot, Defender, Crestron, Q-SYS, AV-over-IP, DHCP/DNS/VLANs/QoS/multicast, digital signage, PowerShell
