Data Quality Engineer/Data Engineer

Fully Remote | Outside IR35 | SC Clearance Required

We're looking for a hands-on SC Cleared Data Quality Engineer/Data Engineer to help build and embed automated Data Quality controls across a modern AWS-based data platform.

This is a data engineering role focused on implementing and operationalising Data Quality solutions, rather than a traditional testing or QA function. You will translate agreed Data Quality rules into scalable, reusable technical controls using dbt, Python, SQL and Airflow, ensuring trusted, high-quality data is available across the business.

Working closely with Data Engineers, Architects and Data Governance teams, you'll help build Data Quality capabilities from the ground up across a strategic enterprise data platform.

Key Skills

Strong Data Engineering experience
AWS (S3, Athena or similar)
dbt, SQL and Python
Apache Airflow
ETL/ELT pipelines and data integration
Data Quality controls, validation and monitoring
Metadata, data governance and data management concepts

What You'll Be Doing

Design and implement automated Data Quality frameworks within a modern AWS data platform
Implement automated Data Quality controls across data pipelines and products
Build reusable validation and monitoring frameworks
Develop and maintain Airflow workflows and dbt tests
Capture and report on Data Quality metrics and exceptions
Collaborate with engineering, architecture and governance teams to improve data quality across the platform

This is an excellent opportunity for a Data Engineer with strong dbt, Airflow and AWS experience to build Data Quality capabilities from the ground up across a strategic enterprise data platform.
