Security Engineer – Tooling & SIEM - Contract - UK/Remote

Location: Remote across the UK

Employment: Contract – outside IR35

Duration: Initial 6 months (with view to extend)

Rate: Flexible, dependent on experience

My client is seeking a Security Engineer to strengthen security tooling and logging across an enterprise client programme.

You’ll work across endpoint security, Zscaler and identity platforms, alongside Microsoft Sentinel and Cribl, ensuring reliable data flows and effective security monitoring.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deploy, configure and tune endpoint security, Zscaler and identity tooling.
• Build and maintain Microsoft Sentinel data connectors, analytics rules and workspace configuration.
• Develop Cribl pipelines to route, filter and enrich security logs.
• Onboard log sources, troubleshoot integrations and improve detection quality.
• Manage logging volumes and costs while maintaining security visibility.
• Work with security and infrastructure teams, documenting configurations and supporting handover.

Requirements:

• Hands-on experience with endpoint security, Zscaler and identity platforms.
• Strong Microsoft Sentinel and Cribl experience in production environments.
• Experience integrating security tools with a SIEM and resolving data-flow issues.
• Ability to independently own delivery and communicate clearly with stakeholders.
• Right to work in the UK and availability to start before Christmas 2026.

Desirable Skills:

• KQL, scripting and automation.
• Relevant Microsoft, Zscaler or Cribl certifications.
• Experience in regulated or large enterprise environments.
• Familiarity with formal change governance and maintenance windows.
