Senior Infrastructure and Cloud Migration Engineer

Remote (if can travel to Yorkshire 1 day per week then that is ideal)

4-6 months day rate contract

£500-600 per day (Outside IR35)

I'm seeking an experienced Senior Infrastructure & Cloud Migration Engineer for an initial 4–6-month contract with a possible quick start.

The candidate will support the internal IT and Platform team with a program to modernise legacy infrastructure, upgrade servers, improve cloud services, and support migration activities.

Key responsibilities:

• Assess existing infrastructure and identify systems requiring upgrades, rebuilding or migration.
• Support the rebuilding and modernisation of AWS and on-premises servers.
• Improve infrastructure security, including server hardening, access controls, patching and endpoint protection.
• Plan and deliver phased migrations of business-critical systems while minimising disruption.
• Work closely with our internal IT, Security and Platform (DevOps) teams to ensure systems are stable, secure and properly documented.
• Provide knowledge transfer and handover to the permanent team.

Essential skills and experience:

• Strong hands-on AWS infrastructure and security experience, including EC2, IAM and networking.
• Windows Server, Linux, Active Directory, Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD) and Microsoft Entra Domain Services (Azure AD DS).
• VMware, virtualisation and network infrastructure.
• Server migrations, infrastructure rebuilding and modernisation.
• Security hardening, Microsoft Defender and infrastructure security best practices.
• Experience delivering complex infrastructure projects under tight deadlines.
