We're working with an exciting MedTech client looking for an experienced Senior Android Engineer to take ownership of building and launching a new native Android application.

The business is developing innovative technology within the healthcare space and has already built its iOS application. They're now looking for a highly capable Android specialist to deliver the Android equivalent, using the existing iOS app as the functional and design reference.

This is a hands-on role requiring someone who can take genuine ownership of the build, make sound technical decisions and deliver a polished, secure, production-ready application through to Google Play Store release.

🛠️ What you'll be doing

• Building a native Android application from the ground up, using an existing iOS app as the reference.
• Taking ownership of the full development lifecycle, from architecture and implementation through to testing and release.
• Implementing Bluetooth connectivity and integrating with existing backend services.
• Building responsive, adaptive interfaces with a strong focus on user experience.
• Implementing robust security practices, including secure data storage and encryption.
• Managing testing, technical documentation and Google Play Store submission.
• Using Claude Code and AI-assisted development workflows to accelerate delivery without compromising quality.

💻 What we're looking for

• Strong commercial Android development experience using Kotlin, Jetpack Compose and Coroutines.
• Proven experience independently delivering and releasing production-quality Android applications.
• Experience implementing Bluetooth connectivity within Android apps.
• Strong understanding of Android architecture, security and secure data storage, including Android Keystore and database encryption.
• Confidence working with existing designs and translating iOS functionality into an excellent native Android experience.
• Hands-on experience with Claude Code is essential, with an understanding of how to use AI effectively throughout the development lifecycle.
• Excellent communication skills, a proactive approach and the ability to work autonomously.

Bonus: Previous experience working within MedTech, healthcare or another regulated industry would be advantageous but isn't essential.

• 📅 Start: Before Dec 14th
• ⏳ Duration: 8–12 weeks initially
• 💷 Rate: Up to £425 per day
• ✅ IR35: Outside IR35
• 📍 Location: Remote working available, with a preference for one day per week in Central London (UK based only)
• 🤝 Interview process: Two 30-minute online interviews, taking place in early November
