The Opportunity

We're looking for an experienced AI Architect to join a major greenfield AI transformation programme with a well-established organisation based in Bolton.

This is a fantastic opportunity to take ownership of the AI architecture strategy from the ground up, designing and delivering scalable, enterprise-grade AI solutions.

You'll play a pivotal role in shaping the technical direction of a brand-new AI platform, working closely with senior stakeholders, engineering teams and business leaders.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and implement end-to-end AI architecture for a greenfield enterprise platform.
• Define AI strategy, architectural standards and technical roadmaps.
• Lead the integration of Generative AI, LLMs and intelligent automation solutions.
• Architect scalable cloud-native AI solutions across Azure and AWS environments.
• Develop secure, production-ready AI frameworks, including RAG architectures and agentic AI.
• Establish AI governance, security and responsible AI best practices.
• Collaborate with engineering, data science and product teams to deliver AI capabilities.

Essential Skills & Experience

• Proven experience as an AI Architect, Solution Architect or Enterprise Architect.
• Strong hands-on knowledge of Generative AI, LLMs, RAG and AI Agents.
• Experience with Azure AI Foundry, Azure OpenAI or AWS Bedrock.
• Strong understanding of Python, APIs, microservices and cloud architecture.
• Experience designing enterprise-scale AI platforms.
• Previous experience delivering greenfield technology programmes.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement and technical leadership skills.
