Infrastructure Architect
Hybrid Working 2 days per week onsite

Our client is seeking an experienced Infrastructure Architect to play a key role in shaping and delivering enterprise infrastructure strategy across a large-scale technology transformation programme.

This is a hands-on architecture role, responsible for translating business, operational, security and resilience requirements into clear technical roadmaps, architecture standards and solution designs. You will provide technical leadership across infrastructure, cloud, security and operational resilience initiatives whilst remaining actively involved through design, implementation, testing and transition into service.

The successful candidate will be comfortable operating across both strategic and technical domains, working closely with engineering, security and business stakeholders to guide technology decisions and ensure solutions are secure, scalable and supportable.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop infrastructure architecture roadmaps aligned with business and technology strategy.
• Produce high-level solution designs, standards, reference architectures and reusable patterns.
• Lead architecture governance and technical decision-making for significant technology initiatives.
• Assess technology options and provide recommendations across infrastructure, cloud and security domains.
• Support enterprise resilience, disaster recovery and business continuity initiatives.
• Provide architectural leadership across infrastructure modernisation and transformation programmes.
• Collaborate with engineering and delivery teams through implementation, testing and operational transition.
• Ensure solutions align with security, operational, performance and compliance requirements.

Essential Experience

• Strong experience operating as an Infrastructure Architect within complex enterprise environments.
• Proven track record of developing infrastructure strategies, roadmaps and target-state architectures.
• Strong understanding of Microsoft infrastructure technologies, including:
  • Microsoft Azure
  • Microsoft 365
  • Active Directory
  • Windows Server
• Experience designing hybrid cloud environments and migration strategies.
• Knowledge of enterprise security principles, vulnerability management and cyber resilience.
• Experience of disaster recovery, backup and operational resilience architectures.
• Familiarity with virtualisation technologies such as VMware.
• Strong stakeholder engagement and technical governance experience.
