Desktop Engineer at Keystream Group Limited, Multiple Locations, £Contract Rate

This is an onsite contract position, paying £150.00 per day Outside IR35 for an initial 3-month contract. The Desktop Engineer will be responsible for supporting the installation and replacement of wireless access points across operational sites.

As part of the IT Team, the Desktop Engineer will be required to install new wireless access points as part of an ongoing wireless refresh programme. This will involve working safely from a ladder to access existing access points, disconnecting the old equipment and replacing it with new equipment.

The primary responsibilities and skills required of the Desktop Engineer should include:

• Previous experience working in a Desktop Support, Field Engineer or IT Infrastructure role
• Experience installing, replacing or supporting wireless access points would be beneficial
• Comfortable working at height and using a ladder safely
• Ability to disconnect existing wireless access points and install replacement equipment
• Basic understanding of network cabling and connectivity
• Ability to follow installation and technical instructions accurately
• Good attention to detail when installing and replacing IT equipment

The physical installation is straightforward and will involve accessing the existing access point via a ladder, undoing a screw, unplugging a cable and removing the old device, before carrying out the reverse process to install and secure the new access point.
