Infrastructure Consultant (x3) - DV-Cleared at Pigment Consulting Ltd, Reading, 6 Months, £Contract Rate

Infrastructure Engineers | Reading, fully on-site | DV-Cleared | Outside IR35 | 2-year programme

Pigment is a change and transformation consultancy. We partner with other consultancies, government departments, and private sector organisations to solve complex change across Government and Defence.

We are looking for a team of experienced DV-Cleared Linux Infrastructure Engineers to provide specialist operating system and infrastructure support for some work within our defence portfolio.

The team will be responsible for the RHEL/Linux operating system layer underpinning the SAP platform, ensuring that the infrastructure is secure and capable of meeting the programme's operational and project requirements.

The initial team is expected to comprise 2-3 engineers, with responsibilities and seniority distributed according to the individuals' areas of expertise.

Please note that our team will likely be needed on-site 5 days per week in Reading due to project sensitivities.

Team Responsibilities

The team will collectively be responsible for:

• Day-to-day support and administration of the RHEL Linux estate supporting SAP.
• Monitoring and troubleshooting Linux infrastructure.
• Pacemaker/Corosync cluster support and troubleshooting.
• STONITH/fencing configuration and support.
• Monthly RHEL patching and maintenance.
• RHEL subscription/licence management.
• Backup support and troubleshooting.
• Linux VM provisioning and configuration.
• Maintenance and enhancement of SAP Linux build templates.
• RHEL major-version upgrades and associated migration activity.
• High Availability and Disaster Recovery implementation and support.
• Infrastructure refreshes, migrations and upgrades.
• Working closely with SAP Basis, infrastructure, security, networking, storage and other technical teams.
• Producing appropriate technical documentation and operational procedures.

Our consultants do not need to be experts in every technology listed. However, strong Linux/RHEL experience is a common requirement across the entire team, with the wider team providing capability across Pacemaker, SAP, upgrades, migrations, etc.
