Role: Project Manager

Location: Birmingham
Working model: Hybrid, up to 3 days on site each week
Our client requires a Project Manager to own the day-to-day delivery of defined projects or workstreams, converting programme priorities into controlled plans, coordinated activity and accepted outcomes. The Project Manager creates pace while maintaining grip on scope, dependencies, resources, risks, decisions and stakeholder commitments.
Key accountabilities
- Mobilise projects and workstreams, confirming scope, outcomes, milestones, governance and acceptance criteria.
- Create and maintain delivery plans, dependency maps, RAID logs, decision logs and action trackers.
- Coordinate business, digital, operational, commercial and supplier activity as required.
- Prepare concise reporting for programme boards and senior stakeholders, including clear paths to green.
- Control scope and manage change requests, making cost, time, risk and outcome impacts explicit.
- Track delivery against agreed milestones and intervene early where progress is at risk.
- Manage stakeholder communications, workshops and decision points.
- Embed proportionate project controls and coach colleagues in their use.
- Work closely with Programme Managers and Business Analysts to maintain line of sight from strategy to delivery,
Requirements:
- Track record of delivering business-change, service-improvement or operational projects.
- Experience operating within governance and assurance environments.
- Ability to manage multiple stakeholders, dependencies and delivery partners.
- Public-sector or local-government experience is desirable.
- Relevant project delivery qualifications or equivalent experience are desirable.
