LEAD DATA ENGINEER (DATABRICKS) | CONTRACT
£450 per day | Outside IR35 | 3 months initially | Hybrid, one day a month in Coventry

Lead a Data Engineering team through a migration from Informatica and Azure Synapse to a Databricks Lakehouse, for a large, multi-brand UK business. Hands-on leadership, working alongside System Integrator partners while building the team's own capability.

What you will do

• Lead the move from Informatica and Synapse to Databricks
• Build scalable pipelines and data products across a medallion architecture
• Embed DataOps, CI/CD, testing and monitoring
• Coach the team in Databricks and modern engineering practice
• Improve data quality, documentation and supportability

What you will bring

• Expert, hands-on Databricks experience
• A track record of leading Data Engineering teams through change
• Data platform migration or modernisation delivery
• Strong SQL, data modelling and Lakehouse knowledge
• Experience working with System Integrators

Useful extras
Azure Data Lake, Synapse, Informatica, Power BI semantic models, and retail, distribution or supply chain data.
