Integration Software Engineer/(IPaaS - Boomi - AWS) - UK CNI - OUTSIDE IR35 - ACTIVE SC CLEARANCE NEEDED

Tecknuovo is a deliberately different digital consultancy, delivering secure, modern technology solutions while upskilling client teams to ensure zero long-term dependency.

We are seeking an experienced Integration Engineer, Software Engineer, Backend Engineer or Java Developer to support a high-profile integration Proof of Concept within a large-scale UK government organisation responsible for delivering critical national services.

This role would suit engineers with a strong background in API development, Back End engineering, system integration or Middleware technologies, who enjoy solving complex technical challenges and building scalable solutions in cloud-based environments.

You do not need to come from a pure Boomi background. Whilst experience with Boomi is highly desirable, we are equally interested in engineers who have delivered integration solutions using technologies such as MuleSoft, Kafka, Apache Camel, IBM ACE/IIB, WSO2, webMethods, Tibco, Talend, or similar enterprise integration platforms.

Working alongside a central integration team, you will help deliver one of the first integrations on a newly established enterprise iPaaS platform, whilst creating reusable engineering patterns and technical blueprints that will support wider organisational adoption.

Key Responsibilities

Design, develop and deploy integration solutions using Boomi or comparable enterprise integration technologies. Build and maintain APIs and system-to-system integrations supporting critical business services. Contribute to the delivery of a strategic integration Proof of Concept. Develop reusable integration patterns and technical blueprints that can be leveraged by future delivery teams. Collaborate closely with architects, developers, platform engineers, QA and DevOps teams. Support the implementation of Infrastructure as Code (IaC), CI/CD pipelines and modern engineering practices. Participate in integration and API testing activities across multiple environments. Produce high-quality technical documentation and contribute to engineering standards and best practices. Troubleshoot, optimise and support integration services throughout the delivery life cycle. Ensure solutions are secure, scalable and maintainable.

Essential Experience & Skills

Strong experience delivering enterprise integration and API-led solutions. Hands-on experience with Boomi or comparable iPaaS, Middleware or integration platforms such as MuleSoft, Kafka, IBM ACE/IIB, Apache Camel, webMethods, Tibco, Talend or WSO2. Experience designing, developing and consuming RESTful APIs. Strong understanding of integration patterns and enterprise integration architecture. Experience working within AWS environments. Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices. Experience working with containerised platforms and Infrastructure as Code approaches. Strong communication, collaboration and stakeholder engagement skills. Ability to operate effectively within a greenfield environment where standards and approaches are still being established. Comfortable working autonomously whilst contributing to wider team objectives. Experience delivering within Public Sector or other highly regulated environments.

Desirable Experience

Hands-on Boomi AtomSphere experience. Java development experience. Experience with event-driven architectures and messaging technologies such as Kafka, IBM MQ or RabbitMQ. Experience helping establish technical standards, integration patterns or platform capabilities. Previous experience working with centralised integration or platform teams.
