Contract Site Reliability Engineer | Solihull (Hybrid)

We are looking for an experienced SRE to join a client on an initial contract, helping IT Operations and APS teams adopt SRE practices through hands-on coaching and real operational work.

📍 Location: Solihull, 2 days per week onsite

📅 Duration: 3 Months

💷 Rate: £600-650 per day - Outside IR35

⏱ Fast-moving process, with interviews taking place this week and a start date of Monday 5 October

The role

You will work alongside IT Ops and APS teams during day-to-day operational activity and incidents, demonstrating effective SRE practice in real situations and helping the teams build confidence and capability.

Scope

• SRE adoption across IT Ops and APS
• Operational readiness, incident response and reliability practices
• Hands-on coaching and capability development

Responsibilities

• Work alongside IT Ops and APS during operational activity and incidents
• Lead or participate in incident response, demonstrating effective SRE practices in real situations
• Coach teams in monitoring, alerting, diagnosis, troubleshooting and recovery
• Establish effective operational feedback loops with Development teams
• Improve operational readiness and service support practices
• Identify gaps in tooling, processes, skills and operational practices
• Demonstrate effective ways of working through pairing and hands-on support
• Transfer knowledge and build confidence within IT Ops and APS
