SC Cleared Security Architect/Outside IR35/Remote (Occasional travel to client site)/12 Month Contract

Our client is seeking an experienced Security Architect to support a major infrastructure exit and transition programme involving the migration of services from multiple incumbent suppliers to a new strategic provider.

This is a high-profile engagement requiring a technically strong Security Architect who can provide independent security assurance across complex hosting, cloud and platform environments while ensuring risks are managed throughout transition and service acceptance activities. The programme spans hosting, storage, cloud services, platform services and data centre exit activities.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide security leadership across a large-scale supplier transition and service migration programme.
• Review and assure security architecture covering cloud, infrastructure, networks, identity, hosting and operational security controls.
• Assess migration designs, HLDs, LLDs, cutover plans and service acceptance criteria.
• Conduct security risk assessments and threat modelling activities.
• Support programme governance by providing clear security recommendations and risk-based decision support.
• Work closely with client teams, incumbent suppliers and incoming service providers to ensure security requirements are maintained throughout the transition life cycle.
• Support readiness reviews, go/no-go decisions and service acceptance activities.
• Assure secure decommissioning, data migration and access removal processes.

Essential Experience

• Active SC
• UK Public Sector, Defence or Policing experience.
• CISSP, CISM, CCSP, SABSA, TOGAF or equivalent certifications
• Proven experience operating as a Security Architect on complex infrastructure, cloud migration or transition programmes.
• Strong understanding of AWS, Azure and hybrid hosting environments.
• Experience covering identity and access management, privileged access, encryption, vulnerability management, logging, monitoring and incident response.
• Experience reviewing solution designs, migration plans and technical architecture documentation.
• Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to challenge constructively across technical and business teams.
• Previous experience working in multi-supplier environments.
