Senior Infrastructure Engineer – VMware & Nutanix

VMware remains one of the most widely used virtualisation platforms in enterprise infrastructure, but with organisations increasingly reviewing the cost and flexibility of their VMware estates, Nutanix is becoming an increasingly relevant technology for infrastructure professionals to have on their CV.

This is an opportunity for an experienced VMware Engineer to gain genuine hands-on exposure to Nutanix while working within a large, global infrastructure environment. You'll work across VMware, Nutanix and the wider Microsoft stack, including Windows Server, Azure, Active Directory/Entra ID and Microsoft 365.

The role sits within a major infrastructure transformation programme, including a significant tenant-to-tenant migration, giving you the opportunity to broaden your skillset while working on a long-term enterprise engagement.

Responsibilities

• Support and engineer VMware and Nutanix infrastructure across a large enterprise environment.
• Contribute to the major tenant-to-tenant migration and wider infrastructure transformation.
• Support Windows Server, Azure, Active Directory/Entra ID and Microsoft 365 infrastructure.

Requirements

• Strong hands-on experience with VMware in a large enterprise environment.
• Experience across Windows Server, Azure, Active Directory/Entra ID and Microsoft 365.
• Existing Nutanix experience is beneficial, but the opportunity is particularly suited to strong VMware professionals looking to expand into Nutanix.

Contract Details

• Day rate: £400–£500 per day
• IR35: Outside IR35
• Duration: 6 months initially, with strong extension potential
• Working model: Hybrid – Greater Manchester
