The Role:

We are seeking a versatile, detail-oriented Software Developer to join our development team. In this role, you will bridge the gap between core modernization initiatives and mission-critical business processes. You will spend your time building and scaling modern cloud-native applications on Microsoft .NET and Azure, while maintaining, extending, and integrating our essential enterprise reporting and Legacy macro systems (Crystal Reports, VBA, and Word Macros).

The ideal candidate enjoys solving complex integration logic, modernising business workflows, and serving as the subject matter expert across both modern cloud technologies and established office automation stacks.

Key Responsibilities:

• Modern Cloud Development: Design, build, and maintain enterprise web applications, RESTful APIs, and microservices using modern .NET (.NET 6/8+) and C#.

• Cloud Architecture & DevOps: Deploy, monitor, and maintain services in Microsoft Azure (App Services, Azure Functions, Azure SQL, Blob Storage, Application Insights).

• Reporting & Document Generation: Build, optimize, and maintain complex Crystal Reports and automated Microsoft Word document macros to support critical business operations and client deliverables.

• Legacy System Integration & Maintenance: Maintain, refactor, and extend existing VBA scripts (Excel/Word/Access) and integrate Legacy automation workflows into modern .NET services.

• Data & SQL Management: Write and optimize complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and views in SQL Server to feed both .NET application logic and Crystal Reports.

• Modernisation & Refactoring: Identify opportunities to migrate business logic Embedded in VBA macros or standalone report scripts into modern C#/Azure services where appropriate.

• Collaboration & Quality Assurance: Work closely with cross-functional business stakeholders to gather requirements, write technical documentation, conduct code reviews, and maintain clean, testable code.

Required Skills & Experience:

Tech Stack

• .NET & C#: Professional experience building web applications or APIs using .NET Core/.NET 6+.

• Azure Cloud: Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure core services (eg, Azure Functions, App Service, Azure SQL, App Insights, Key Vault).

• Database/SQL: Strong proficiency in T-SQL, SQL Server database design, stored procedures, and query performance tuning.

Reporting & Automation Stack

• Crystal Reports: Solid experience designing, modifying, and troubleshooting complex reports using sub-reports, conditional formatting, and SQL data sources.

• VBA & Office Automation: Strong working knowledge of VBA (Visual Basic for Applications) across Excel, Access, or Word.

• Microsoft Word Macros: Practical experience creating, debugging, and maintaining Word macros, mail-merge automation, or document template routines.

Desirable/Nice-to-Have Skills:

• Experience with Azure DevOps pipelines (CI/CD) or GitHub Actions.

• Familiarity with Front End frameworks (eg, React, Angular, or Vue) or ASP.NET MVC/Blazor.

• Background in document management, automated report generation pipelines, or enterprise system migrations.

• Understanding of modern document generation frameworks (eg, OpenXML, Syncfusion, or Aspose) to assist in future macro deprecation.
