Data Engineer - Snowflake

6 month contract outside IR35

Hybrid 2 days per week in central Edinburgh or London office

Our based client is seeking an experienced Snowflake Data Engineer to support the migration from Legacy reporting platforms to a modern cloud-based data platform. You will design and deliver secure, reliable reporting feeds using Snowflake, Azure Data Factory and SFTP, while migrating and refactoring financial and internal reporting solutions. You will also contribute to reusable data pipeline frameworks and help transition solutions into business-as-usual support.

Key skills and experience

• Extensive experience designing and implementing Snowflake data warehouse solutions
• Expertise and excellent proficiency with Snowflake internals and integration of Snowflake with other technologies for data processing and reporting
• Data Modelling using the Kimball Methodology
• Experience in developing production-ready data processing pipelines using DBT
• Experience in developing CI/CD pipelines using Gitlab or similar
• Comprehensive knowledge of data engineering, data modelling and ETL best practice
• Experience of working within a global team
• Experience of working with multiple stakeholders as part of an Agile team

Experience with Python, Fivetran, Power BI, Azure security concepts and Apache Airflow would be advantageous.
