Overview:

We are working with a growing financial services organisation that is looking for an experienced Data Architect to help shape its future data and technology strategy. This is a strategic architecture role with genuine influence. The organisation has built a number of tactical data solutions and is now looking for someone to define what the future-state data architecture should look like over the next 3–5 years.

The Role:

You will work closely with senior data and technology leadership to:

• Assess the existing data and technology landscape
• Define the target-state data architecture
• Develop the roadmap from the current environment to the future state
• Define data architecture principles, standards and patterns
• Shape the organisation's wider data and technology strategy
• Assess the role of Azure and Microsoft Fabric within the future architecture
• Design architecture across investment, operational and enterprise data
• Shape data integration and data platform strategy
• Support the development of an Investment Book of Record (IBOR)
• Evaluate build vs buy and third-party technology options
• Work closely with Data Engineers to turn architecture into deliverable solutions
• Provide technical direction across the wider data function

What We're Looking For:

• Significant experience as a Data Architect / Enterprise Data Architect
• Strong experience within financial services
• Strong understanding of modern data platforms and cloud architecture
• Experience across Azure / Microsoft
• Experience designing target-state data architectures
• Experience developing data strategies and technology roadmaps
• Strong data modelling and integration knowledge
• Experience working with complex, regulated data environments
• Ability to operate at both strategic and technical levels
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills

Contract Details

• Rate: £750–£850 per day
• IR35: Outside IR35
• Location: West Midlands
• Working Pattern: 2–3 days per week on site
