Python Developer - Defence & Aerospace - URGENT

£500 per day | Outside IR35 | 3-month contract + extension | Essex/Hybrid

We are currently looking for 1-2 experienced Python Developers to join an urgent project within the defence and aerospace sector.

This is an opportunity to work on a technically interesting programme involving Python development, defence cloud integration, modern DevOps practices, automation and Data & AI.

The Role

You will be involved in developing Python-based software and tooling that will be integrated into a secure defence cloud environment, working across areas including:

• Python development - developing robust software and tooling for integration into a defence cloud environment.
• Data & AI - supporting data-driven and AI-related capabilities as part of the wider programme.
• Automation & Tooling - developing automated tools and processes to improve engineering and operational efficiency.
• DevOps & Infrastructure - working with modern DevOps practices, automated pipelines and engineering tooling.
• CI/CD & quality - working with technologies such as GitHub, Tecton and SonarQube to support modern development and delivery practices.
• Experience with D2S (Defence Developer Services) would be a major advantage, although this is not essential.

Essential Requirements

• Strong commercial experience with Python development
• Experience working with DevOps, automation and/or software delivery pipelines
• Familiarity with modern development tooling such as GitHub and SonarQube
• Experience working in Defence, Aerospace or another highly secure/regulated environment would be advantageous
• CURRENT SC SECURITY CLEARANCE - ESSENTIAL
• Available to start ASAP
