Contract Infrastructure Engineer – M&A / EUC Deployment

Contract: Initial 3 months, likely extension (outside IR35)

Location: Loughborough – hybrid, typically up to 3 days per week onsite when required

Travel: UK & European travel required for M&A cutovers/go-lives, including occasional weekends. All authorised travel and accommodation expenses paid.

Role Overview:

We are looking for a highly hands-on Infrastructure / EUC Engineer to support a fast-paced programme of business integrations and technology deployments.

The role will focus primarily on preparing, configuring and deploying laptops, mobile devices and applications to end users across multiple business locations. You will work closely with the wider Infrastructure, M&A and Service Delivery teams to ensure devices, applications and user access are fully tested and ready ahead of migration and go-live events.

This is a delivery-focused role suited to someone who is comfortable working directly with users, troubleshooting under pressure and travelling to sites to support critical cutovers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Build, configure and deploy Windows 11 laptops and end-user devices using Microsoft Intune and Autopilot.
  • Enroll, configure and support iOS mobile devices through Intune/MDM.
  • Install, package, deploy and test business applications, including Win32 and line-of-business applications.
  • Support Microsoft Entra ID, device registration, identity, MFA, Conditional Access and user access issues.
  • Undertake hands-on device migration, hardware refresh and user onboarding activities.
  • Work directly with business users to perform application testing, UAT and post-migration validation.
  • Troubleshoot device, application, profile, connectivity and access issues during deployment and hypercare.
  • Maintain accurate build, asset, deployment and migration records.
  • Support M&A integration cutovers, including onsite weekend go-lives and hypercare across the UK and Europe.
  • Work closely with internal teams, MSPs and third-party application owners to drive issues through to resolution.

Skills & Experience:

Strong practical experience with Microsoft Intune / Endpoint Manager, Windows Autopilot, Entra ID, Windows 11 and Microsoft 365 is essential. Experience of application packaging/deployment, MDM/MAM, device compliance, Conditional Access and endpoint troubleshooting is highly desirable. PowerShell, Microsoft Graph, SCCM/MECM and experience of large-scale device refresh or migration programmes would be advantageous.

You will need to be proactive, customer-focused and comfortable operating in a changing project environment, with the ability to work independently, communicate confidently with end users and remain calm during time-critical go-live activity. Flexibility to travel and work occasional weekends is essential.

Ideal background: Infrastructure Engineer, EUC Engineer, Endpoint Engineer, Deployment Engineer, Modern Workplace Engineer or Desktop Deployment Engineer with experience supporting multi-site transformation, migration or M&A programmes.
