Contract Description

Data Platform Programme Manager | Greenfield Data & AI Intelligence Transformation | Commodities Trading | Outside IR35 up to £1,300/day

I’m working on a major greenfield Data & AI transformation Programme Management for a leading global commodities trading organisation, building a company-wide intelligence platform on AWS.

The platform is at an early stage, with implementation only just getting underway. The wider transformation is focused on creating a modern, scalable enterprise data platform / Data Mesh, spanning infrastructure, data ingestion, storage, data products and ultimately business deployment.

We’re looking for a Programme Manager who has taken a data platform transformation from “nothing” through to production and business adoption.

You’ll lead delivery across multiple interconnected projects, coordinating multiple engineering teams, suppliers and consultancies, while owning the integrated plan, dependencies, RAID, budgets, governance, scope and stakeholder management.

We’re particularly interested in people with:

  • Commodity trading / energy experience would be highly advantageous, but investment banking, financial services and fintech backgrounds are also relevant.
  • Proven greenfield experience building and deploying data platforms or Data Mesh-style transformations
  • Experience taking a data initiative from inception through to production
  • Strong understanding of modern data platforms, data products, lineage and data architecture
  • Experience managing multiple workstreams, suppliers and dependencies
  • Excellent stakeholder management and the ability to drive decisions without direct authority
  • Strong project governance, financial management and delivery discipline

This is a greenfield opportunity to help deliver a significant enterprise-scale data platform and AI transformation.

If you’ve built a modern data platform from the ground up and taken it into the real world, I’d be keen to speak.
