The Role

12 month initial rolling contract 
Remote, Outside IR35 

IKEA is looking for a Senior Cyber Engineer to strengthen security across a large-scale enterprise environment, covering cloud and on-prem infrastructure, applications and third-party platforms. The role is focused on vulnerability management, security assessments and embedding security into engineering processes, working closely with product, platform, architecture and engineering teams.


Key Responsibilities

• Own/support vulnerability management across cloud and on-prem environments, including risk-based prioritisation, remediation SLAs, patching and hardening.
• Conduct security assessments, threat modelling and security gate checks across applications and platforms.
• Build and operationalise security intake/gate processes for internal products and third-party vendors.
• Embed security controls into CI/CD and DevSecOps pipelines.
• Assess and communicate security risks, turning technical findings into clear, prioritised remediation actions.
• Support improvements across cloud, network, endpoint and identity security.
• Contribute to security posture reporting, metrics and cyber resilience.

Ideal Candidate

• 8+ years' cybersecurity/security engineering experience within medium-to-large enterprises.
• Strong hands-on vulnerability management + infrastructure security experience.
• Cloud experience across Azure, AWS or GCP, alongside on-prem environments.
• Experience with security assessments, threat modelling, OWASP/app security and security testing.
• Practical DevSecOps/CI/CD experience – GitHub Actions, GitLab, Jenkins or similar.
• Experience with third-party security/risk assessments and security governance processes.
• Strong communicator able to work with engineering, product, platform, architecture and risk teams.
• CISSP required.
