Principle Systems Engineer (Outside IR35)

Stevenage

£500 - £600 a day

6 months initial contract with opportunity to be extended to 12 months

Our client is seeking an SME Principal Systems Engineer to provide end-to-end technical ownership of a new physical system on a contract basis. You'll be the go-to technical authority for the programme, leading requirements definition, system architecture, and technical decision-making from concept through to delivery, ensuring the project is successfully completed.

Roles/Responsibilities

• Own system requirements, architecture and technical direction.
• Act as the senior technical authority for a complex engineering programme.
• Lead multidisciplinary design, integration and problem-solving activities.
• Direct and challenge suppliers, partners and specialist engineering teams.
• Drive verification, validation and product qualification.
• Engage customers and stakeholders while shaping systems engineering best practice.
• Travel across the UK and occasionally internationally to support customers, suppliers, trials and engineering partners.

About You

• Experience owning requirements, architecture and technical delivery.
• Experience within the defense industry.
• Strong systems engineering background in complex products or platforms.
• Proven integration, test and qualification experience.
• Ability to solve challenging multidisciplinary engineering problems.
