A well known University is seeking to recruit a Technical Business Analyst who will support the discovery and definition phases of the university's AI programme. £500/day outside IR35 with occasional on site presence required.

The role will bridge business and technical teams to identify AI opportunities across the organisation, understand user needs, assess current technical capabilities, and define requirements for the implementation of an AI platform leveraging Microsoft Azure.

The ideal candidate will be a Technical Business Analyst with experience of cloud based technologies, particularly Azure, who can combine strong business analysis skills with sufficient technical understanding to support the design and implementation of an AI platform.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Conduct discovery activities to identify AI use cases across academic, research and professional services areas
• Engage with stakeholders to understand user needs, requirements, processes and personas
• Analyse current technical capabilities and Azure environment to identify platform requirements and gaps
• Work with technical and business stakeholders to define functional and non-functional requirements
• Produce high-quality business requirements documentation and supporting artefacts
• Facilitate workshops, stakeholder interviews and requirements gathering sessions
• Support the development of the AI platform roadmap and implementation approach
• Collaborate with project management, architecture, platform and delivery teams to ensure requirements are understood and documented
• Provide recommendations on processes, governance and operating models to support AI adoption

Essential Skills and Experience:

• Significant experience working as a Technical Business Analyst
• Strong requirements gathering and stakeholder engagement skills
• Experience delivering discovery and definition phases for technology programmes
• Good understanding of Microsoft Azure and cloud-based platforms
• Experience translating business requirements into technical requirements
• Strong documentation skills, including production of Business Requirements Documents
• Ability to engage effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Experience facilitating workshops and conducting stakeholder interviews
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills
• Understanding of platform architecture and cloud infrastructure principles
