Robotics Software Engineer
Contract Details
- Status: Outside IR35
- Location: Hybrid in London
In this role, you will take ownership of features across the full robotics stack, working directly with ROS 2 Jazzy, writing clean Python and C++ services, and diagnosing complex real world edge cases directly on physical production machinery.
Key Deliverables
- Build modular, testable, and well documented subsystems across the full robotics stack in ROS 2 Jazzy.
- Diagnose system issues, replicate bugs, and test features hands on directly with microfactory hardware and physics based simulations.
- Implement targeted, production grade solutions to resolve edge cases in autonomous cell operations.
- Participate in code and design reviews, improving developer tooling and automated testing practices.
Required Experience
- Demonstrable track record shipping and maintaining production software in commercial environments.
- Strong Python software engineering skills applied to high level robotics software (C++ capability advantageous).
- Proven working experience with ROS 2 (nodes, topics, services, actions, parameters, launch, and composition).
- Strong Linux engineering background (systemd, shell scripting, networking, and containers).
- Hands on background debugging and troubleshooting physical hardware and embedded systems.
