Data Migration Lead at Develop, Uxbridge, £Contract Rate

£500–£650 per day Outside IR35 12–13 Months Remote UK ASAP Start

A leading UK public sector transformation programme is seeking an experienced Data Migration Lead for a 12–13 month contract.

This is an excellent opportunity for a Data Migration Manager, Data Migration Lead, Data Migration Project Manager or Senior Data Migration Consultant with experience delivering complex enterprise data migrations.

The successful candidate will lead the end-to-end migration of data from legacy systems into a modern cloud-based platform, taking responsibility for data analysis, data mapping, ETL, SQL, data cleansing, data transformation, data quality, reconciliation, validation, testing and live migration.

• Lead the complete data migration workstream from discovery through to go-live.
• Create and maintain the data migration strategy, plan and governance.
• Analyse legacy databases, spreadsheets, documents and third-party data sources.
• Produce source-to-target data mapping specifications.
• Define data transformation and migration rules.
• Identify and resolve data quality issues.
• Lead data cleansing, deduplication and remediation activities.
• Analyse and manage document migration into a new document management system.
• Map data across multiple integrations and third-party systems.
• Work with SQL, ETL processes and migration scripts.
• Coordinate data migration developers and technical resources.
• Work with business SMEs to establish data rules and validation requirements.
• Plan and execute test data migration cycles.
• Produce reconciliation and validation reports.
• Coordinate business acceptance testing.
• Lead the final live data migration.
• Provide post-go-live migration support.
• Maintain migration documentation, governance and audit trails.
• Manage migration risks, assumptions, issues and dependencies.

Candidates should have:

• Proven experience as a Data Migration Lead / Data Migration Manager / Senior Data Migration Consultant.
• Strong experience delivering complex enterprise data migrations.
• Hands-on SQL experience.
• Strong understanding of ETL and data transformation.
• Experience with data modelling and source-to-target mapping.
• Strong data cleansing and data quality experience.
• Experience delivering test and live migration cycles.
• Experience with data reconciliation and validation.
• Experience working with legacy systems and modern cloud platforms.
• Strong stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to work with technical teams and business SMEs.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
