Contract Description

Business Central Developer – Contract

Remote | up to £400 per day | Outside IR35 | Initial 6 months

We’re looking for an experienced Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central Developer to join a growing technology team and take ownership of the continued development and improvement of a business-critical ERP platform.

This is a hands-on contract where you’ll work closely with the ERP Technical Lead, building new functionality, developing integrations and improving the existing Business Central environment.

There’s a good mixture of project development and BAU, so we’re looking for someone who is comfortable owning work end-to-end – understanding a requirement, designing the solution, developing it in AL and seeing it through testing and release.

What you’ll be working on

  • Designing and developing Business Central extensions using AL
  • Building new functionality across finance, operations, sales, purchasing, inventory and customer workflows
  • Developing and maintaining integrations between Business Central and wider platforms using APIs and web services
  • Translating business and functional requirements into practical technical solutions
  • Working directly with the ERP Technical Lead on solution design and implementation
  • Taking ownership of development through build, testing and release
  • Supporting and improving CI/CD and deployment processes
  • Troubleshooting Business Central customisations, integrations and production issues
  • Identifying performance or concurrency issues and implementing improvements
  • Contributing to code reviews, testing standards and technical documentation

What we’re looking for

The key thing is someone who knows Business Central development inside out and can come into the team and contribute quickly.

You’ll ideally have:

  • Strong commercial Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central development experience
  • Strong AL development skills, including extensions and customisations
  • Experience building APIs, web services and system integrations
  • Experience developing and supporting live Business Central environments
  • Good understanding of CI/CD and controlled releases
  • Confidence working independently and owning development end-to-end
  • A pragmatic approach – someone comfortable investigating problems, making decisions and getting things delivered

You’ll have support from the ERP Technical Lead and wider technology team, but this isn't a role where every task will be mapped out for you. We're looking for someone who can take ownership, get into the detail and help keep the Business Central platform moving forward.

If you’re an experienced Business Central Developer looking for your next contract, please apply for immediate consideration.
