CONTRACT BACK-END ENGINEER - .Net / C# / Claude (OUTSIDE IR35) at Searchability (UK) Ltd, Manchester, £Contract Rate

Hybrid - 2 Days Onsite in Greater Manchester
£4500 - £550 Per Day Outside IR35 Initial 3 Months

We're looking for an experienced Backend Engineer to join a forward-thinking engineering team where AI-assisted development is becoming part of everyday software delivery.

This is a hands-on development role. You'll work within the sprint team, writing and shipping production C#/.NET code whilst using Claude Code as part of your daily engineering workflow.

We're looking for someone who is already comfortable using AI to accelerate development - prompting, reviewing and iterating outputs whilst remaining fully accountable for the quality of their code.

• Build and ship backend applications and REST APIs using C# and .NET
• Use Claude Code as part of your day-to-day development workflow
• Own features through design, build, test, deployment and operation
• Write clean, secure and maintainable production code
• Apply TDD and automated testing
• Work with modern CI/CD processes
• Collaborate with the Principal Engineer, Architect and wider Agile team
• Work to strong standards around security, data privacy and change control

• Strong commercial C# and .NET backend experience
• Experience designing and developing REST APIs
• Hands-on experience using Claude Code for software development
• Strong TDD / automated testing experience
• Good knowledge of CI/CD
• Strong software engineering and architecture fundamentals
• Experience working within Agile development teams

• Experience within a UKGC-regulated or similarly regulated environment
• Azure or AWS experience
• Experience with GitHub Copilot, Cursor, OpenAI or similar AI tooling
