Java Tech Lead - Contract (Gaming or Finance) - Remote

Location: UK-based, fully remote
Contract: Initial contract
Rate: Up to £600 per day
IR35: Outside IR35

We're looking for an experienced Java Tech Lead to join a high-performing engineering team on an exciting contract programme.

This is a hands-on technical leadership role, combining strong software engineering expertise with the ability to guide engineers, shape technical direction and drive projects through to successful delivery.

You'll take technical ownership across key projects, providing leadership to development teams while remaining close to the code and architecture. You'll work closely with engineering, product and other technical stakeholders to make sound technical decisions and deliver robust, scalable solutions.

• Strong commercial experience with Core Java
• Extensive experience with Spring Boot
• Strong AWS cloud experience
• Proven experience as a Tech Lead, Lead Engineer or similar
• Experience leading engineering teams and delivering complex projects
• Strong understanding of software architecture, design patterns and engineering best practice
• Comfortable being hands-on and contributing to code where required
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
• Experience working in iGaming, gambling/betting or regulated financial services is essential

• Up to £600 per day
• Outside IR35
• Fully remote anywhere in the UK
