We're resourcing a contract Data Governance Consultant for a fintech asset management client's data governance implementation, built on AWS and Databricks (Unity Catalog). This is hands-on delivery from day one, focused on the business and definitional side of governance rather than the technical build.

You'll support the identification and documentation of Critical Data Elements (CDEs) - definitions, ownership, sensitivity, and data quality requirements - and help write the client's governance policy and standards for their AWS/Databricks estate. You'll run workshops with business and technical stakeholders, work alongside the Senior Data Governance Engineer to translate business logic into data quality rules, and contribute to the ownership and stewardship model for the client's data domains. You'll also develop and deliver training material to help stakeholders understand the new governance operating model.

What we're looking for:

• Strong data governance consulting background, with a track record of defining and documenting CDEs in a client setting
• Experience writing or contributing to governance policy, standards, or framework documentation
• Practical understanding of governance concepts within a Databricks/Unity Catalog environment (domains, governed tags, data products)
• Confident stakeholder engagement and workshop facilitation across business and technical audiences
• Experience creating and delivering governance training to non-technical audiences
• Clear, client-ready written communication
• Comfortable embedding within a mixed client/consultancy team with minimal onboarding

Desirable: prior AWS-hosted Databricks governance experience, DAMA CDMP or similar certification, experience working alongside a Data Governance Engineer.
