Optimal are excited to offer a great opportunity with a forward-thinking financial services organisation we're partnered with exclusively.

We're looking for an experienced AWS DevOps Engineer to own infrastructure automation, CI/CD, architecture, and cloud reliability in a secure, compliance-driven environment, while helping steer the business through a strategic move from AWS to Azure.

What you'll bring to the role:

  • Extensive hands-on DevOps engineering experience with a strong grasp of DevOps principles and methodologies
  • Strong AWS across Route 53, DNS, ECS, ECR, load balancing, serverless, IAM, networking and security
  • Azure exposure and comfort supporting a phased AWS to Azure migration
  • Infrastructure as Code with Terraform (Azure Bicep a strong plus)
  • Containerisation and orchestration with Docker and Kubernetes
  • Building reusable CI/CD pipelines with quality gates (linting, SonarQube) and security baked in, ideally on GitHub Actions
  • Solid networking knowledge (protocols, DNS, load balancing, inbound/outbound rules) as it relates to application deployment
  • Designing and implementing architecture with a focus on network security
  • System monitoring and logging with Prometheus and Grafana
  • Strong scripting skills (Bash, Python)
  • Good understanding of Git and version control, SDLC, and software QA principles
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, able to document and share results with stakeholders
  • Able to work UK business hours consistently
  • Adaptable, detail-oriented, and a strong problem solver
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
  • AWS, Azure, or Terraform certifications (a plus)

This is a great opportunity to take real ownership in a secure, high-stakes environment while shaping a major cloud transformation. Ready to take it on? Apply now.
