Business Analyst at HartleyCo, London Area, £Contract Rate

Contract Description

Business Analyst

About the role

We're supporting a search for a Business Analyst to join a client of ours in the financial industry. The team is small, sharp, and focused - you'll be working closely with the Snowflake data engineering team already in place, helping shape the Equity Derivatives side of the build.

This isn't a role where you'll be handed a rigid playbook - the team is lean and expects people to take real ownership, from shaping the backlog to thinking through trade-offs and solution design.

What you'll be doing

  • Getting stuck into requirements gathering, stakeholder engagement, and process definition for the Equity Derivatives workstream
  • Writing and prioritising tickets, user stories, and backlog items
  • Supporting testing and QA throughout delivery
  • Taking ownership of governance, backlog creation, and solution design decisions
  • Making sure everything you deliver fits cleanly into the TradeAgent platform and operating model
  • Working with a fair amount of autonomy - this is a small team, so you'll need to be comfortable driving things forward yourself

What we're looking for

  • 5+ years as a Business Analyst in capital markets or wider financial services
  • Solid OTC trade processing experience
  • Equity Derivatives product knowledge - if that's not a direct match, broader Derivatives experience works too
  • A track record of writing clear requirements, tickets, and user stories, and supporting testing/QA along the way
  • Comfortable in a lean team where you're expected to just get on with it

Nice to have

  • Experience working alongside Snowflake or data engineering-heavy delivery teams
  • Investment banking or broader FS/banking background
  • Familiarity with AI-based SDLC approaches (CI/CD and the like)
