Apple Mac Support Engineer (Level 1)
Location: London - Various sites
Rate: £200-£230 per day (Outside IR35)
Contract Length: 6 weeks (Start: Mid-August 2026)
Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Level 1 Apple Mac Support Engineer to provide frontline technical support across multiple London sites. The successful candidate will troubleshoot and resolve macOS, hardware, and application issues for end users, while leveraging JAMF for device management and deployment
This is a short-term, outside-IR35 contract role ideal for a specialist with hands-on Mac and JAMF experience who can hit the ground running.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide Level 1 support to Mac users via phone, email, and in-person across various London locations
- Diagnose and troubleshoot hardware, software, and operating system issues on MacBook, iMac, Mac Mini, and related Apple devices
- Perform device setup, configuration, user profile migration, and deployment of new and replacement Macs
- Support Apple ID, iCloud, macOS, VPN, and Office 365 integration issues on Mac platforms
- Utilise JAMF Pro to manage device enrollment, apply configuration profiles, deploy software packages, and maintain compliance with organisational policies
- Escalate complex or recurring issues to Level 2/3 engineering teams with clear documentation and root cause analysis
- Maintain accurate ticketing records, update knowledge base articles, and contribute to process documentation
- Ensure timely OS and application patching in line with security and compliance standards
- Support on-call or extended hours as required to meet SLA commitments
Essential Experience & Skills
- Proven experience providing frontline (L1) support for Apple Mac devices in an enterprise or corporate environment
- Hands-on experience with JAMF Pro for device management, including policies, configuration profiles, Self Service, and software deployment
- Strong troubleshooting skills for macOS (Big Sur, Monterey, Ventura, or later), Apple hardware, and common enterprise applications (eg, Microsoft 365, Adobe Creative Suite)
- Familiarity with Apple Business Manager (ABM) and Automated Device Enrollment (ADE) workflows
- Experience with ServiceNow or similar ITSM platforms for incident and request management
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain technical solutions to non-technical users
- Ability to work flexibly across multiple London sites and adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Desirable Qualifications
- JAMF 100 or JAMF 200 certification (or equivalent demonstrable experience)
- Apple Certified Support Professional (ACSP) or similar Apple certification
- Experience with Bash or Python Scripting for automation and troubleshooting in JAMF
- Knowledge of endpoint security tools and vulnerability remediation on macOS
