Lead DevOps Engineer - Remote - Outside IR35 - AWS, Kubernetes, ArgoCD, Kafka

TrinIT Talent are looking for an experienced Lead DevOps Engineer to come on board for an initial 3 month contract. This role is Outside IR35, is primarily remote, with occasional travel to London and is paying £600 per day.

Job Description:-

You will take a leading role in delivering a large-scale cloud and DevOps transformation, with a strong focus on AWS, Kubernetes, ArgoCD/GitOps and Kafka. Working within an Agile delivery team, you'll provide technical leadership whilst remaining highly hands-on, designing, building and improving scalable cloud infrastructure, container platforms, deployment tooling and automation.

The role will see you leading engineering across AWS and Kubernetes environments, implementing and improving GitOps deployment models using ArgoCD, developing Infrastructure as Code with Terraform and supporting enterprise Kafka platforms. You'll also help drive engineering best practice across CI/CD, observability, identity and Internal Developer Platforms, whilst mentoring engineers and influencing technical direction.

Key Skills:-

• Extensive enterprise AWS experience, including designing and supporting multi-account environments

• Strong Kubernetes experience, particularly Amazon EKS and Helm

• Extensive hands-on ArgoCD and GitOps experience within enterprise Kubernetes environments

• Strong Apache Kafka experience, including Amazon MSK, Kafka Connect and Debezium

• Expert Terraform experience, developing reusable Infrastructure as Code modules

• Experience designing and implementing CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions, GitLab or Bitbucket

• Strong understanding of Kubernetes deployment, configuration, troubleshooting and platform operations

• Experience designing and supporting highly available, scalable AWS and Kubernetes platforms

• Strong knowledge of observability platforms including Prometheus, Grafana, Loki, Tempo and OpenTelemetry

• Experience with identity platforms including Keycloak, AWS IAM Identity Center, Entra ID and Active Directory

• Experience building and enhancing Internal Developer Platforms, ideally using Backstage

• Proven technical leadership experience with the ability to mentor engineers and influence DevOps and platform strategy

• Excellent stakeholder management and consultancy skills
