Power BI Specialist - 6-Month Contract - Fully Remote - Outside IR35

We are working with a leading Wealth Management organisation undergoing a significant Data Transformation programme, who are looking for an experienced Power BI Specialist Contractor to take ownership of the refactoring and optimisation of their existing Power BI estate.

This is a hands-on role focused on improving performance, scalability, maintainability and governance, while ensuring the Power BI environment is fit for future growth.

Key Skills & Experience

• Strong commercial experience as a Power BI Developer/Specialist.

• Proven experience refactoring and optimising existing Power BI environments.

• Strong DAX, Power Query and data modelling skills.

• Experience with Power BI performance optimisation and technical debt remediation.

• Strong understanding of financial reporting, P&L and management reporting.

• Experience working with databases and data transformation.

• Wealth Management/Financial Services experience highly desirable.

• AWS data environment experience beneficial.

• Able to work independently and take ownership of the refactoring workstream.

• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.

Key Responsibilities

• Own the Power BI refactoring and optimisation workstream.

• Review existing reports, datasets and models, identifying technical debt, duplication and performance issues.

• Refactor and optimise DAX, Power Query, data models and reports.

• Improve performance, refresh times, scalability and user experience.

• Rationalise and consolidate existing reporting solutions.

• Establish consistent BI, modelling and governance standards.

• Continue to support and enhance financial reporting requirements.

• Work closely with Finance, Business and Data teams.

• Support the wider Data Transformation programme.

• Provide knowledge transfer and leave a cleaner, faster and more sustainable Power BI environment.

Contract: 6 months | Fully Remote | Outside IR35 | £Competitive per day
