Developer & Solutions Architect - London Insurance Market Experience (Contract)

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Developer & Solutions Architect to join a specialist organisation operating within the insurance and financial services sector. This role will play a key part in the design, development and enhancement of enterprise applications, data platforms, integrations and automation solutions.

The successful candidate will provide technical leadership across application architecture, data architecture, systems integration and process automation, helping to deliver secure, scalable and business-critical technology solutions.

Ideally you will have exposure to the London Insurance market

Key Responsibilities

Data & Analytics

Lead the architecture and ongoing development of an enterprise Data Warehouse.

Design and maintain ETL/ELT processes and system integrations.

Develop and optimise data models to support reporting and analytics.

Ensure data quality, governance and integrity across platforms.

Support business intelligence initiatives using Power BI and related technologies.

Application Development

Design, develop and support bespoke business applications.

Deliver enhancements to existing systems and integrations.

Develop APIs and services connecting cloud and third-party platforms.

Ensure adherence to secure development and governance standards.

Automation & Digital Transformation

Identify and implement automation opportunities across the business.

Build and maintain Power Automate workflows and Power Apps solutions.

Support the adoption of Microsoft 365, Copilot and AI-enabled technologies.

Drive efficiency improvements through intelligent automation.

Solution Architecture

Define architecture standards and technical design principles.

Produce solution designs, architecture documentation and technical blueprints.

Support cloud-first initiatives across Azure and Microsoft 365.

Ensure solutions meet security, compliance and resilience requirements.

Essential Skills & Experience

Proven experience as a Solution Architect, Technical Architect or Senior Developer.

Strong experience designing and supporting enterprise Data Warehouse solutions.

Advanced SQL and database development skills.

Experience with ETL, data modelling and data integration technologies.

Strong knowledge of Microsoft Azure data services.

Hands-on experience with:

Power Platform

Power Automate

Power Apps

Power BI

Experience developing APIs and system integrations.

Strong Microsoft 365 knowledge.

Excellent stakeholder management and documentation skills.

Experience working within regulated environments.

Desirable

Insurance, Lloyd's Market or Financial Services experience.

Knowledge of underwriting, claims or bordereaux data structures.

Experience with Azure Data Factory, Synapse Analytics or Microsoft Fabric.

Exposure to AI, Machine Learning and Microsoft Copilot technologies.

Relevant Microsoft, Azure or TOGAF certifications.
