PLEASE NOTE: The Lead Business Analyst is a hybrid role based in London, requiring onsite attendance 4 days per week initially, reducing to 2-3 days per week thereafter. Occasional travel to UK sites may also be required.

This is an exciting Lead Business Analyst opportunity to join a UK-based Engineering Services organisation, responsible for driving business analysis across strategic technology transformation programmes spanning digital transformation, enterprise applications, cyber security, infrastructure, AI, automation and business change initiatives.

As a Lead Business Analyst, you will provide governance across a portfolio of complex IT and transformation programmes, acting as the key link between business stakeholders and technology teams. Reporting to the IT Programme Manager, the Lead Business Analyst will lead requirements definition, process improvement, solution evaluation and business readiness activities to ensure technology investments deliver measurable business value. Working alongside project managers, architects, application teams, cyber security specialists and third-party suppliers, the Lead Business Analyst will understand business needs and translate them into effective technology solutions. The Lead Business Analyst will help establish business analysis best practice, mentor junior colleagues where required, and ensure consistent approaches to requirements management, process modelling and stakeholder engagement across the organisation. To succeed as a Lead Business Analyst, you will need significant experience delivering business analysis within complex IT and digital transformation environments, strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to translate complex business requirements into practical technology solutions. Experience across enterprise applications, process improvement and business change initiatives is highly desirable.

Key Skills as Lead Business Analyst:

  • Proven experience leading business analysis activities across complex IT transformation programmes.
  • Strong experience gathering, analysing and documenting business requirements, user stories and functional specifications.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills.
  • Must have managed a team of Business Analysts.
  • Experience in M&A transitions, strategy and integration (desirable)
  • Strong process mapping, business process improvement and operating model change experience.
  • Experience supporting enterprise applications including ERP, HRIS, Finance, CRM, Service Management or digital workplace initiatives.
  • Experience working across digital transformation, automation, AI, infrastructure or cyber security programmes.
  • Ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear business language and actionable outcomes.
  • Experience working within structured project and programme delivery environments, using Agile, Waterfall or hybrid methodologies.
