Contract Data Engineer / Developer

We are seeking an experienced SC/NPPV3 cleared Data Engineer / Developer on a short term initial contract to support the delivery of innovative data solutions within a secure policing environment. This is an opportunity to work on projects that transform and integrate complex intelligence and forensic datasets, helping to improve operational capabilities through automation and modern data engineering practices.
Essential Skills & Experience
- Experience within UK policing, law enforcement, government or national security environments.
- Understanding of digital forensic data handling and processing.
- Experience developing IES-to-SCREENING conversion solutions.
- Knowledge of SCREENING artefacts or policing intelligence platforms.
- Recent experience with a U.K police force or utilising SC and NPPV3 clearance
- Multiple years' experience as a Data Engineer/Data Analyst
- Strong programming skills in Python and/or Java.
- Knowledge of data transformation and integration using IES, XML and JSON.
- Experience with workflow automation and service development.
- Familiarity with intelligence data models and secure information exchange standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop and maintain scalable data transformation and integration solutions.
- Build and optimise ETL/ELT pipelines for structured and semi-structured data.
- Develop and maintain IES-to-SCREENING data conversion logic.
- Automate workflows to improve operational efficiency and data quality.
- Prototype new services and data processing capabilities.
- Process and transform digital forensic data extracts into standardised formats.
- Collaborate with technical teams, stakeholders and end users in an Agile delivery environment.
- Produce high-quality, maintainable code and supporting technical documentation.
