Senior DevOps Engineer


London (Hybrid)


Day Rate - £500 (Outside IR35)


We’re seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer to join a major cloud transformation programme for a global logistics and maritime services organisation. This role sits within a high-performing engineering team responsible for migrating core systems and services to the cloud a key strategic initiative that drives scalability, resilience, and global efficiency.


The Role


You’ll play a pivotal role in architecting, automating, and supporting the migration of on-premise infrastructure to a modern cloud environment. Working closely with development and platform teams, you’ll ensure the new environment is secure, performant, and built for long-term sustainability.


Key Responsibilities


  • Lead infrastructure design and deployment using Terraform (IaC)
  • Build and manage Kubernetes clusters to support containerised workloads
  • Support the migration of legacy systems to cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
  • Develop and optimise CI/CD pipelines for cloud-native delivery
  • Create automation scripts and tools — ideally using Python
  • Implement monitoring, alerting, and scaling strategies to ensure operational excellence
  • Collaborate across teams to ensure seamless migration and minimal disruption


What You’ll Bring


  • Proven experience in a Senior DevOps or Cloud Engineering role
  • Strong hands-on knowledge of Terraform and Kubernetes
  • Demonstrated experience with cloud migrations or large-scale infrastructure modernisation projects
  • Proficiency in at least one major cloud platform (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
  • Experience with automation, CI/CD, and infrastructure observability
  • Scripting experience in Python
  • Excellent communication skills and a collaborative, delivery-focused mindset
